The role
The maître d' owns the book. Every reservation, request, regular and VIP comes through you, along with each night's seating plan. You decide who sits where and when, and you set the pace of the room. Every guest sees you first when they arrive and last when they leave.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage the reservation book in Resy every day. That covers inventory, table assignments, pacing, turn times, holds and the waitlist.
• Reply to every reservation request by email, phone or DM within 2 hours.
• Know the regulars by name, table and order. Keep their Resy guest profiles tagged and noted so the floor team starts every service briefed.
• Work with ownership on VIP, press, investor and industry requests.
• Run the door every service. You greet, seat, manage waits and adjust the floor plan live.
• Enforce cancellation and no-show policy, deposits for large parties, and overbooking strategy.
• Brief the floor before each service on covers, notable guests, allergies and occasions.
• Forecast covers with the GM and coordinate pacing with the kitchen.
• Help build the CRM

Requirements

• 4 years running the book at a New York restaurant where demand far outstrips seats.
• Expert command of Resy: OS floor plans, shift setup, guest tags and notes, Notify, deposits and cancellation fees, and reporting.
• Fast responses. Same-day replies are the floor, and you answer inside the hour during service.
• Calm and gracious at a packed door. You can turn down a guest's request and keep them as a regular.
• A sharp memory for names and faces.
• Polished writing in email and DMs.
• Available nights, weekends and holidays.
