EffectUs Athletics is looking for a coach who loves fitness, but loves helping people even more.

For more than 13 years, EffectUs Athletics has helped people become stronger, healthier, and more confident through expert coaching, meaningful relationships, and a supportive community. Our roots are in the CrossFit methodology, and today we offer strength & conditioning classes, HYROX training, personal training, individual programming, and youth athletic development from our 7,000+ square foot facility in St. Michael, Minnesota.

We're looking for someone who wants to do more than coach classes. We want someone who is excited to build relationships, guide clients toward their goals, and become a key part of our members' fitness journey.

What You'll Do

Coach & Develop Athletes

• Lead group strength & conditioning and HYROX classes
• Provide individualized coaching and movement corrections
• Scale and modify workouts appropriately
• Run personal training and semi-private training sessions
• Conduct On-Ramp sessions
• Help members build confidence and achieve their goals

Build Relationships & Drive Results

• Be assigned a roster of members and serve as their primary coach
• Conduct goal reviews and accountability check-ins
• Monitor attendance and follow up with absent members
• Schedule and review InBody body composition scans
• Celebrate member milestones, PRs, and achievements
• Create meaningful connections that improve member retention and success

Full Time Coaches Only: Support Gym Operations

• Perform New Member No-Sweat Intros
• Assist with member onboarding and retention systems
• Answer phones, manage email inquiries, and schedule intro sessions
• Support community events and member engagement initiatives
• Participate in coach development and continuing education
• Help grow personal training and semi-private coaching services

Preferred Qualifications

• Coaching experience in functional fitness, CrossFit, strength & conditioning, or group fitness
• Personal training experience
• CrossFit Level 1, Personal Training Certification, Exercise Science degree, or related experience preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to connect with people from all backgrounds and fitness levels

Compensation & Benefits

Coaching Compensation

• Group Class Coaching: $25-30/hour
• Personal Training: $35-40/hour
• Semi-Private Training: ~$60–100/hour

Administrative Compensation

• Administrative & Client Success Work: $20/hour

Benefits

• $250/month Health Insurance Reimbursement (beginning Month 6 of full time employment)
• Employee will receive 10 paid vacation days in year 1, and will earn 2 days each year of employment up to 20 paid days of vacation.

• Paid 1 hour break with each 6+ hour day

Typical Weekly Schedule

• 10–12 hours Group Coaching (immediately)
• Build up to 10–15 hours Personal Training / Semi-Private Coaching
• 10-12 hours Client Success & Administrative Work
• Saturday coaching rotation approximately every 8 weeks
• Typical shifts range from 6–8 hours
